Robert Bider

Robert Bider joined Hirslanden in 1985 as Managing Director of the Clinic Hirslanden. Since 1990 he has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Group and since 2001 as member of the Board of Directors. Robert Bider is a member of the Board of Directors of Grand Resort Bad Ragaz AG, USI Group Holdings AG, Medi-Clinic Switzerland AG – all in Switzerland – as well as of Medi-Clinic Corporation Limited, South Africa. In addition, he serves as a member of several industry associations and educational institutions.

In 1972 Robert Bider graduated in electrical engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. He holds a masters degree in Industrial Management (MIM) and a Ph.D. from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. Following a number of management positions, e.g. with the University Hospital Zurich and the Swiss Hospital Institut Aarau, he joined the Clinic Hirslanden in 1985. After heading the Clinic for five years, Robert Bider launched a national expansion strategy in 1990 and was promoted Chief Executive Officer of the Hirslanden Group of Private Hospitals. Nowadays, Hirslanden comprises 13 private hospitals within Switzerland.
