Anders Härfstrand
Anders Härfstrand became CEO of Nitec Pharma in September 2007. He has almost 20 years of senior level pharmaceutical experience. Most recently he was Senior Executive Vice President at Serono International, having previously been SVP Marketing for Geneva and the Nordic region. Until April 2005, Dr Härfstrand was Executive Vice President and Member of the Board of Pfizer Japan with responsibility for Ophthalmology, Endocrinology, Oncology, Diversified products and Business Development. Dr Härfstrand has also been Chairman of Xanthius Pharmaceuticals Inc, NJ USA since 2005. Dr Härfstrand’s pharmaceutical career began originally with Pharmacia AB in in 1988 where he held a variety of senior positions through the listing in 1994, the merger with Upjohn in 1995 and until he left Pharmacia in 2003 when he was VP, Country Operations, Global Prescription Business. Dr Härfstrand has also been Chairman of Xanthius Pharmaceuticals Inc, NJ USA since 2005. In 1983 he graduated in medicine at the Karolinska Institutet and practiced medicine as well as lecturing in neuropharmacology and histology before entering the pharmaceutical industry. Dr Härfstrand also completed a PhD in neuropharmacology at the Karolinska Institutet in 1987.
