Randall N. Gatz, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer
Dr Randall Gatz is a founder of OphthalmoPharma, his career includes 14 years in the drug development group at Battelle Institute, Switzerland. He was VP of R&D for Fournier Laboratories, Head of New Opportunities for Debiopharm SA, and CEO of Orthoconcept SA. Dr. Gatz was Principal Investigator for the US National Cancer Institute’s Drug Development Program, Business Development at the International Science Center, Switzerland, and New Opportunities Business Development Director for Debiopharm SA, Lausanne, Switzerland, for 8 years.
Dr. Gatz is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Eleos, Inc., a company developing anti-sense anticancer drugs, an advisor to the Board of Directors for RxKinetix, Inc., a drug delivery company, and he sits on the Board of Directors of HSF Pharma, a start-up company exploiting heat shock protein technology. He is a board-certified toxicologist and has extensive experience in identifying opportunities and meeting those needs by developing commercially important pharmaceutical products. Dr. Gatz received his MSc and PhD in Pharmacology and Physiology from the University of Kentucky.
